Dear BCD Parents,

Your child’s safety and security is always a priority at Boulder Country Day.

All employees of the school go through extensive national and regional background checks. We also require that Regular Parent Volunteers do a background screening every two years. This is a common practice in many organizations that serve children: Boulder Valley School District, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, YMCA, Boulder Force Soccer and many others.

Regular Parent Volunteers are required to complete an online background screening process including, but not limited to, those who help at school in the following activities:

  • Parent volunteers with a regular schedule in the school

    • Room parents
    • Library parents
  • Overnight trip chaperones
  • Parent volunteer field trip drivers or chaperones

Occasional Parent Volunteers are not required to complete the online background screening process. The school will conduct a minimal background screening for those individuals as appropriate. This category includes, but is not limited to, those who help in the following activities:

  • Occasional parent volunteer (for example, classroom party, school/community event)
  • School-sponsored events (for example, book fairs, science fairs, school dances, guest speakers, field day)
  • Projects with little or only incidental contact with students (for example, LOTA, pizza parents, scorekeepers and, classroom guest speakers)

If you completed a background screening during the 2012-2013 school year or this past summer (August 1, 2012 to current) you do not have to complete the screening for the 2013-2014 school year.  If you completed the screening prior to August 1, 2012 you will need to complete the screening again.  If you are unsure when you did your last screening please see your homeroom teacher who will have a list of who does and does not have to complete the screening.

To conduct these volunteer background screenings, BCD is using TC logiQ, the same company utilized by the Boulder Valley School District. The link below will connect those who anticipate being a Regular Parent Volunteer at the school to the TC logiQ website. There is no cost to you to complete this process.

When you go into the TC logiQ  website you will see “Click here to begin background screening process”.  You will then be asked to choose “Returning applicant” or “New applicant”.  If in the past you have done a screening for BCD through TC logiQ you should choose “Returning Applicant”.  Put in your user name and password and continue the process.  If you have forgotten your user name and/or password the system will prompt you.  Parents who have never done a screening through BCD should choose “New applicant”

A few days after the background screening is completed, individuals will receive a pass/fail notification.  If the person passes, TC logiQ will provide that information to BCD. If the person receives a fail notification, he or she will have the opportunity to discuss that information with TC logiQ.

To connect to the TC logiQ website, please go to the following website:

Boulder Country Day values volunteers. We appreciate your taking a few minutes to complete the screening process. If you have any questions, please contact Ann-Marie Tewey in the business office, (303) 527-4931, Ext. 228 or
